Amphibians have a three-chambered heart with two atria
and one ventricle, where some mixing of blood occurs.
The ventricle pumps blood into a forked artery, then into the pulmocutaneous circuit for gas exchange through the lungs and skin, and the systemic circuit, completing a double circulation .
