Each hemisphere of the cerebral cortex has four lobes:
frontal,
parietal,
temporal,
and occipital.
Sensory input from eyes and ears are received in primary sensory areas for vision and hearing.
Sensory data are then integrated in the association areas.
Sensory input from other receptors send data to the somatosensory cortex; motor commands are issued from the motor cortex.
Neurons in these two cortices are often located according to the body part that generates or receives the signal.
